General Information

Life span: 10-15 years

Size: The Maltese is a toy sized dog that you will find in sizes from 7 to 11 inches tall. Some will be as little as 4 Lbs up to 9 Lbs.

Coat: Long, Straight and silky. Color should appear white, although occasional lemon markings appear.

Appearance: Neat little dog with a profuse white coat. Head is flat and a short,broad muzzle. The nose is black. Eyes are dark brown and have an intelligent expression. Ears are long and well feathered. Body is short and cobby, carried on short straight legs. Tail also well feathered is carried arched over the back.

Temperment: Active, tough, highly alert, and playful. A Maltese is a verry affectionate and loveing friend. They will run and play with children all day or sit on your lap for hours. They are also a good guard dog despite their size. Maltese are easy to potty train and quick to learn.
